WELCOME TO THE BATTLE STANDARD! NEW ENGLAND’S PREMIER TABLETOP GAME AND HOBBY LOCATION SINCE 2010.

NEW ENGLAND’S PREMIER TABLETOP GAME AND HOBBY LOCATION SINCE 2010.

At The Battle Standard Tabletop Game & Hobby you’ll find all the tools, resources, and amenities to comfortably enjoy all your favorite tabletop games. Since opening our doors in early 2010 we have consistently grown New England’s gaming community by cultivating a welcoming gaming venue that sets a higher standard for what a game store can, and perhaps should, be. Since then we have increased our square footage to 13,000 square feet to accommodate larger, more thematic game areas, and improved retail space to feature additional product ranges. We've adopted several consumer technologies to enhance the experience of the shopper such as digital price scanning and our Shop Here | Play Here table pass system. With the edition of The Scarred Bard Game & Grog, and The Fray Tournament Center, our Friendly Local Game Store is better than ever demonstrating our popularity, community backing, and absolute dedication to "raising the standard of tabletop gaming!" It’s time for tabletop gaming to get out of the basement and into the game!

At our current location in East Windsor, CT, our largest to date, we’ve created a haven for the tabletop game player whilst never letting slip our focus of Miniature Games, Board Games, Card Games, and Role-Playing Games. We can all agree that collectibles are fun and pop culture is amazing, but that’s not what we do. Our mission is to knowledgeably introduce patrons to the tabletop game hobby and cultivate a friendly local gaming scene through events, activities, and open game play. We want to bring tabletop gaming to the popularity of other entertainment sources, like that of computer and console gaming, and that means pinpointing our focus rather than selling all-things-geek.

Each year we have worked diligently to set the bar for the way a Tabletop Gaming venue can feel and function and the response to our adaptation has been overwhelmingly supportive. From the players that enjoy these games, to the stores that have seen the success we’ve had with it, the standard for what constitutes a great gaming venue has been raised and we’re extremely proud to be leading the charge. With better gaming environments across New England, it means more players, bigger crowds for events, and more attention paid to one of the most interactive and rewarding hobbies available.

As a founder and a proud member of Connecticut Local Gaming Stores United (CTFLGSUnited.org), we joined with other CT game-related businesses to tackle the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic safely and responsibly. With great success we have all returned to everyday activities. However, we haven't let go of maintaining a clean, safe space for all! Our hopes are to build off the friendships we’ve made with other FLGS in CT and develop networks of play and participation that brings the customer all over the state to meet new people and engage in diverse game meta. We want to encourage players to visit multiple venues to build longer distance communities and perhaps at some point fulfill a dream we’ve had for a long time…a New England Game Store Trail! The opportunities are endless when we all work together to make the connections and build the friendships and tabletop gaming is an outstanding vehicle for that sentiment.

Now that you know more about us, we’re asking you join the fray! Say, “No more!” to wobbly card tables, dank basements, and poorly maintained game venues! You deserve better. Great gaming stores provide a clean, well-lit, gaming area to showcase your hobby. Say, “No thank you!” to sidestepping action figures, comic books, balsa wood airplanes, and dollhouses to get to YOUR favorite Tabletop Gaming items. Those hobbies are wonderful, but tabletop games and hobby supplies deserve their own venue without the clutter. And, of course, demand the best in your community and customer service by saying, “Goodbye” to the gamer elite and social cliques at that "Globo-Hobby" shop we’ve all had the displeasure of experiencing. Outstanding game communities built by outstanding game stores welcome new players and those looking for a new home to enjoy. Our staff is ALWAYS courteous, ALWAYS attentive, VERY knowledgeable, and best of all…TABLETOP GAMING FANATICS JUST LIKE YOU! Remember why you started playing. F-U-N. If it stops being fun, you’re doing it wrong.

“Our staff has been working on the future of what it is to be a tabletop gaming venue since 2010. Join the growing community that passionately supports us. Come experience tabletop gaming done right, right here, at The Battle Standard.” – Jared Brodeur, Owner, The Battle Standard LLC.
