Battle Cry Hobby Competition
Each year The Battle Standard Tabletop Game & Hobby celebrates the miniature modeling hobby by bringing you our BATTLE CRY Hobby Competition. Participants enter multiple categories to display their skills and compete with their peers on painting, kitbash, and conversion talents. The winners walk away with the BATTLE CRY trophy. A one-of-a-kind sculpted bust of our very own mascot and standard bearer, “Wallace” demonstrating the traditional BATTLE CRY pose. Sci-Fi Small Model
- Trophy category. TOP 3 RECEIVE A FULL-SIZE TROPHY!
- Smaller entries such as a single foot troop or a small creature. Entry must be approved for category by judges during check-in.
Sci-Fi Large Model
- Trophy category. TOP 3 RECEIVE A FULL-SIZE TROPHY!
- Large entries such as a single vehicle or a monstrous creature. Entry must be approved for category by judges during check-in.
Fantasy Small Model
- Trophy category. TOP 3 RECEIVE A FULL-SIZE TROPHY!
- Smaller entries such as a single foot troop or a small creature. Entry must be approved for category by judges during check-in.
Fantasy Large Model
- Trophy category. TOP 3 RECEIVE A FULL-SIZE TROPHY!
- Large entries such as a single vehicle or a monstrous creature. Entry must be approved for category by judges during check-in.
Unit / Squad
- Trophy category. TOP 3 RECEIVE A FULL-SIZE TROPHY!
- Themed or cohesive unit or squad such as a grouping of troops or vehicles. Entry must be approved for category by judges during check-in.
Open
- Trophy category. TOP 3 RECEIVE A FULL-SIZE TROPHY!
- This is a free-for-all category. All entries permitted. Entry must be approved for category by judges during check-in.
Kitbash / Conversion
- Trophy category. TOP 3 RECEIVE A FULL-SIZE TROPHY!
- THIS CATEGORY ENCOURAGES UNPAINTED ENTRIES. Although painted entries may be accepted, paint quality will not be part of the judging. Paint and primer hide the details we need to view in order to properly judge the entry, so be aware that they are inherently at a disadvantage. Entries may include mixed-model kits, plastic card use, and putty sculpting to assemble a cohesive model design. The entry is judged on readiness for primer/paint, construction integrity, center of gravity on the base, and overall dynamics and design. Entry must be approved for category by judges during check-in.
FEATURED (???)
- Trophy category. TOP 3 RECEIVE A FULL-SIZE TROPHY!
- This category changes annually. From historical, steampunk, and various settings, to dioramas, duels, or young painters only, we provide this category to give miniature model artists a chance to showcase their diverse skillsets based on various criteria. Look to the event entry on our calendar for this year's Featured category. Entry must be approved for category by judges during check-in.
Staff & Last-Year’s-Trophy-Holders Showdown
- Trophy category. TOP 3 RECEIVE A FULL-SIZE TROPHY!
- Staff and last year’s BCHC 2018 trophy holders (placing first in any category) only. Public vote determines winner. Entry must be approved for category by judges during check-in.
