A tabletop game is a term used for board games, card games or title based games which are played on a tabletop. Now a lot of players play a tabletop game with a wobbly card table or in a dark basement. Now what happens when you get excited? We want to change that. Here at The Battle Standard, we want to let you have a place where you don’t have to worry about wobbly card tables but instead have a space that is well lit as well as clean. Not only do we have a space where you can play different tabletop games but we have a space for our retail store. Since we opened in 2010, we have doubled the space so now we have even more space for games than before. We have more space for more product ranges. Walking through the game store could make you want to try a new game that normally you might not. This will give you an opportunity to possibly build a new game that you might actually really like.

If you happen to pick up one of the games that you might not know how to play. You can come into our comfortable space to learn the new game. Learning a new game could spark new friendships. You will be able to play multiplayer board games with people who might not normally play the game that you normally play.

We stay true to our original business model which is specializing in miniature games, board games, card games and role playing games. We want to bring tabletop games to the same popularity as other entertainment sources like computer and console gaming.

We are accomplishing this goal with us founding Connecticut Local Gaming Stores United. They joined with other Connecticut game related businesses to provide a multi-store collaboration on tabletop game awareness and advertising. There are joint store leagues and tournaments to encourage players to visit multiple venues and build community. This is a statewide travel opportunity so everyone can enjoy it.
